This is the British version of the Gibbs. It uses unmodified blades, because of this they and the shave quality are extremely sought after so they generally fetch high prices.

It says "Made in Britain" on them but there is lots of speculation if in fact that is completely correct. Its generally thought that Gibbs manufactured them to supplied specifications. I have read online that they were only produced in 1953, although considering that I know of three versions, I find this unlikely.

As far as I can tell, there are three versions.
    Gold with the location posts on the middle plate - this seems to be the most common one.
    Gold with the location posts on the topcap.
