Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements markets these as "Adjustable" - I don't agree simply because current blades are so thin and don't really have too much spring in them. Once a certain point is reached the head will start to rotate freely. That said, the head does impart a fair amount of curvature to the blade. A little more about the razor itself. Its a three piece as can be seen in the fourth image below. Its a Double Open Comb and the best part for me, is the curvature imparted to the blade.
Since I made my locking handle, its the only handle that I ever use on it.
