About

C Avatar Hi - My name is Claudio. I go by the alias "Clouds" on the various shaving forums. The image to the left is my avatar.

I bought my first Gibbs in June 2018. When it arrived I was faced with the blade issue, which I sorted out by creating a sort of template in aluminium that I used together with a Dremel to notch the blade. Once that was done and I had a few shaves under my belt with it, I thought that it needed a heavier handle. Its an oddball thread but luckily a friend had a matching tap and I made my first handle.

A couple of months later a few guys were talking about the "head heaviness" on one of the forums and mentioned wanting a heavier handle to balance it out - so I posted an image of mine. I then got a number of Private Messages asking me to make some and that is how Razor Sharp Fittings started.

I've since added the Gibbs 15 Aluminium version and the version that does not come apart to my collection. The latter is my "experimental" one. There are a few Gibbs Frankenrazors that take standard blades but this one and has the honor of been the first Gibbs worldwide that still uses the original top cap and bottom plate, thus retaining the smoothness and effeciency that we love them for.

Been a Gibbs fan, the natural progression is the Personna Micrometric and the Palmera 7. I have two Personna's, the first I bought in February 2019. In March 2019 another came up on Ebay but it had a broken handle, which of-course suited me perfectly. I was the only bidder and got it for its opening bid. This is the one that you see in the various images.

The unicorn of the lot is the Palmera. I finally found my Palmera a year later in February 2020.

There are 6 parts to a Gibbs, plus the spring. I have sucessfully made 4 of them. Add the notcher that I designed and made, you can see that I am a Gibbs fanboy.
